JAI Art After Hours x Jamy James
Imagine stepping into a world where art, history, and gastronomy converge in perfect harmony. This was the reality for a select group of JAI members who were recently invited to an exclusive evening at the iconic Kunawong House Museum.
The evening unfolded like a meticulously curated dreamscape. As guests arrived, the air was filled with the enchanting melody of a violinist, a prelude to the extraordinary experiences that awaited. The garden, a verdant oasis in the heart of the city, provided a serene backdrop for mingling and conversation.
The true magic began as the doors to the museum opened, revealing a treasure trove of art and history. Khun Jok Kunawong, the esteemed owner, and his daughter Sirikorn graciously welcomed guests, offering an intimate tour of their private sanctuary. A journey through time commenced, as guests marveled at the collection of ancient Thai artifacts dating back to the era of King Rama II, juxtaposed with contemporary masterpieces. The highlight, however, was a peek into the private quarters of the Kunawong family, a space normally shielded from public eyes.
As the sun began its descent, guests were ushered into the dining hall, a space transformed into an ethereal dreamscape by JAI's own Pearl Nannapin. Each table setting was a work of art, a testament to her impeccable taste and eye for detail. The culinary maestro, Chef Jamy James, had crafted a menu that was a symphony of flavors, each dish a homage to a masterpiece of art. The evening was accompanied by the smooth sounds of a jazz band, creating an ambiance of sophistication and refinement.
But the night wasn't merely about indulgence. An unexpected surprise awaited – a private auction featuring coveted art pieces by renowned artists Crybaby, Alex Face, Bibi Lei, and Mit Jai In. These were not simply artworks; they were investments in beauty, culture, and the spirit of collecting.
The evening at Kunawong House was more than just an event; it was an immersion into a world of art, history, and exclusivity. It was a testament to the JAI commitment to curating experiences that transcend the ordinary. As guests departed, they carried with them not just memories, but a deeper appreciation for the beauty, history, and the power of connection that JAI fosters.
